UAC WANTS TO PARTNER WITH ANY PARTNER ON YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH FISH POND FARMING, PRODUCTION OF MAIZE, VEGETABLE AND CHICKENS
United Action for Children (UAC) Cameroon intends to expand its operations to cover more communities Fako and Manyu Divisions of the South West Region of Cameroon with a focus on empowering Youths through fish pond farming, the production of maize, vegetable and chickens.
Cameroon as a country is too rich and blessed with favourable climate for production of most food items, and UAC has identified another gap in these localities that can be used to empower unemployed Cameroon youths gain economic independence through Production of Cameroon maize, vegetable and chicken.
UAC through this partnership with potential partners intends to engage 500 youth on a pilot scheme in the village communities of Upper Bokova, Buitingi, Besongabang and Mbio in the construction of cement fish ponds, production of maize, vegetables and chickens.
UAC Target is to:
- Cultivate 1000ha of maize, vegetable in 13 three village communities by 2030
- Construct a poultry/piggery farms for youth in the community
- Construct cement fish ponds in communities
- Create 5000 jobs for the unemployed youths by 2030
UAC is building a sustainable network of Agripreneurs, Agric Educators. The initiative will be replicated in other communities across the region. With the training and the involvement of the youth in the entire process of farming, their interest in agriculture would increase.
