United Action for Children (UAC) is a community-based charitable non-governmental organization operating in Cameroon, dedicated to enhancing the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and women. Headquartered with offices in Buitingi village (approximately 3 km from Buea) and New Layout in Mamfe, UAC works tirelessly within rural communities and urban slums to drive meaningful social impact.
Our Story & Heritage
Founded in 1996 by guidance counselor Mr. Orock Thomas Eyong, UAC began from a deep-seated childhood dream to support needy children. Recognizing that the traditional Cameroonian education system often leaves youth unequipped for independence, and responding to the rising tide of youth unemployment, Mr. Orock rallied a circle of friends to establish an organization focused on functional education and employable skills.
Officially registered on August 3, 1998, under registration number 557/G37/014/1/V04/T/T/OAPP, UAC started as a small, single-staff initiative.
Over the years, our scope has organically expanded to encompass women’s empowerment, driven by the understanding that uplifting mothers directly secures a stable, healthy environment for their children.
Today, we manage model schools for orphans and vulnerable children in Buea and Mamfe, while pioneering contemporary initiatives such as “Youth in Agribusiness” to motivate youth toward sustainable agricultural enterprises.
